60th Annual

blessing of the fleet

4pm Service / 5pm Blessing of the Boats / 5:30pm Fish Fry

behind Brotula's Restaurant in Destin

This Destin tradition was created 60 years ago to ask God's blessing over each boat in the Fishing Fleet. It has now expanded to prayers for any vessel, captain and crew who makes their living from the sea.

The Fleet Blessing begins with an outdoor Ascension Day Service behind Brotula's Restaurant. After the service, Destin pastors proceed to the docks to bless the passing vessels. 152 boats were blessed in 2016. Meanwhile the Blessing Fish Fry welcomes more than 400 diners to enjoy great local food with a view of the harbor.

Boat Captains/Owners may register their vessels by calling 850.837.6324 or emailing your Boat Name, Captain's Name, Address and Phone Number to immanuel@iacdestin.org.

For the past 14 years, Destin-area churches, civic leaders and businesses have joined together to offer a variety of additional events during the week of Ascension Day. "Destin's Week of Blessings" offers faith-focused, family-oriented activities which create greater opportunities to bless and support the Destin community.

As always, Thursday's Blessing of the Fleet is hosted by Immanuel Anglican Church. Immanuel is excited to team with other area churches who share the vision of preserving Destin’s character as a faith-and-family-oriented community.

fall festival

Autumn is harvest time, so on the last Sunday in October, the Immanuel family invites local families to celebrate God's glorious harvest with a food feast, games, face painting, pony rides, cake walks and lots more! Bring a dish to share for lunch on the deck after 10am Worship, then stay for the Fall fun and fellowship.

greatest gift camp

Children ages 3 years to 5th grade are invited to this special one-day camp and party at Immanuel on a Saturday in December. Kids will have a blast learning about the "greatest Gift of all" and making gifts for family members. $20 covers supplies and lunch. Scholarships available. Parents can use this day to get ready for Christmas.

Pre-registration is a must. Call or text Miss Cissy at 850.830.3146 or email cissy@iacdestin.org

kOINONIA Women's REtreat

Koinonia is a Greek word meaning "fellowship", "association", "community" or "communion".  To Anglican women of the Gulf Coast it means a not-too-far- away weekend women's retreat for worshiping and communing with God and each other.  All faiths are welcome, of course.

family fishing day

Immanuel families enjoy a day of deep-sea fishing on the Gulf every June. Kids, grandkids, moms and grandfathers are all welcome aboard a Pelican Adventure boat for half a day on the open sea. Catch red snapper, mackerel, mahi-mahi, amberjack and more -- it's all in a day's fun!
